Welcome to
Intergenerational Fan Mail!
Opening the door of communication between our generations
We are the conduit for personal communication between our elder and our younger people
About Us
IGFanMail.org is a Community based on providing a conduit to pass correspondence between Senior Citizens and Youth. Our mission is to enrich the aging and youth experiences by providing opportunities to gain perspectives across generational experiences. This benefits not just our participants, but also their families and the greater community.

“Grandma sees these things when she talks about them and gestures with her hands like she's painting brush strokes in the air. The way Grandma paints her dreams for me, there's a low sky.”
― Heidi W. Durrow, The Girl Who Fell from the Sky

How it works:
Who wouldn't like getting fan mail?
Think of IGFanMail.org as a conduit between Senior Citizens and Students. We keep a list of school groups and senior care groups and connect them to the best of our ability to exchange correspondence across generational lines. Rest assured, your privacy is important and none of the group leaders' or group members' information is shared with any outside person or organization whatsoever.
Each user in the group is provided a user name to ensure their communication is a two-way, personal transfer between their new friend and themself.
At this point, transfer of correspondence is strictly electronic (via email) by group leaders (educators and care facility representatives) although as our future resources permit, individual communication via this site will be possible. Correspondence via hand-written notes, letters, photos, pictures, etc. is perfectly fine, however it is the group leaders' responsibility to assemble the correspondence and convert it into electronic form via scanner or other technique and then emailing that information in *.pdf format to us to be passed on to the other corresponding group leaders.
Parental/Guardian permission to utilize our service is the responsibility of the group leaders.
Our services are completely free for the users and group leaders. We are a non-profit organization and we appreciate any donations and/or purchases made on amazon.com via our pages to cover our operating expenses.
Our goals are to provide intergenerational perspective; combat loneliness; foster learning; and enhance writing, reading and communication skills.
Thank you to future group leaders in advance for your dedication to this cause!
